Maui Hope is guided by a group of highly qualified and licensed professionals with a depth of experience in the field and deep roots in Hawaii celebrating the diversity of the people on our island home. We recognize that the strength of our direct support workers is essential to the success of our non-profit and the well-being of our clients.
At Maui Hope before working one-on-one with our clients we begin by training to the Department of Health’s high standards followed by moving into emergent field-based learning on our life-sharing approach. Department of Health credentialing and training at minimum includes certification in First Aid and CPR, passing a criminal background check, a TB clearance, a thorough understanding of the 17 mandatory Department of Health training topics as outlined in the Medicaid Waiver Standards Manual, along with an in depth understanding of each participants’ Individual Service Plan.
As a Department of Health licensed Medicaid Waiver provider our purpose at Maui Hope is to provide the best quality of life for our clients. Through this training approach, we explore an environment rooted in recognizing the true dignity in each of our clients. With quality and structure Maui Hope aspires to provide a path toward meaningful and productive lives for our clients which helps promote a positive work experience for our employees.
